Dear Sister,
I know I've been posting a lot of youtube videos lately, but this one is just... wonderful! I really think there should be a law that mandates everyone watch this video once a day. It's THAT good. Enjoy!

Alright, Alright, Here It Is
Dear Sister,
I saw straight through it the moment I received your message. Pretending to be brother?! Really?! For SHAME! But I will consent to give you the link one last time. No excuses not to see it now!
Love,
Marigold

Makes Me Smile
Dearest Sister,
I apologize for not posting sooner. However, I have very little to say. Here's something to watch instead! I thought it was pretty funny (and true)!
Lots of Love,

Picture Adventures
Dear Sister,
Mother and father wanted a picture of Reg and I for Christmas. UGH! I really cannot think of a more pompous gift than a picture of myself. ("Here you go, it's ME! Now you can look at ME each and every day! What a GIFT!") But it's what they wanted, and they are my parents after all. They did give me life. And a kitten that one year. So I figured the least I could do is give them what they wanted.
So then there was the whole dilemma of how to get this picture. Reg's finals + Marigold's start-up small business = busy. Then there's the whole issue of who was going to take the picture. I really wanted the pictures to turn out decent. Not just a quick snap-shot type thing. So we asked ourselves: do we hire someone to take it? No. That didn't seem necessary. Plus, I'm a photographer for crying out loud. I like to be in control of the pictures.
Solution: tripod + camera self-timer! Oh my goodness, you should have seen us! For all the pictures I wanted to set the camera up pretty far back so we didn't look distorted (which is what happens in some pictures and it makes you look like your head is swollen- or worse) which meant that one of us had to literally sprint into position. Of course we never got it right on the first try which meant we had to sprint multiple times. Each time it seemed a little more comical. People stopped to watch us- I'm not kidding. It was that comical.
Much Love,
Marigold

Reg was the runner for this one. Doesn't he look all casual about it? Like "What? Me? Oh yeah, I always stand like this with my wife in front of multicolored trees. It's what we do... every day.
I was the runner for this one- in heels, no less! The whole time I was running I kept saying- ok- yelling to Reg, "Don't move your face! I focused on your face!"
P.S. Don't show this to Mother or Father... it's going to be their Christmas gift after all!

Poor Bambi
Dear Sister,
There is a dead deer in the gully/revine/ditch/whatever behind our apartment building. I can see it while I edit my photos near our living room window. It's been there for a couple days now, and here's the thing: I'm oddly fascinated by it. I look at it multiple times a day. Other times I want to look at it, but I force myself not to because looking at dead animals multiple times a day is weird. I have so many questions: How did it get there? Did it jump the fence? How did it die? Were its deer friends around when it happened? Will vultures discover it and start flying around? Do vultures live in San Antonio? How many days will it be until I can start to see the signs of decay? Is anyone going to call animal patrol? I need mental help.
Lot of Love,
Marigold
P.S. There is no photo to go with this post... I thought you'd probably appreciate that.

My Backyard... One Day
Dear Sister,
I had a photo shoot today at a place called The Japanese Tea Gardens. I've shot there many times this Christmas card season, and it is lovely! I've decided that one day my backyard will look like this. I'm sure it only takes an hour or two to landscape. I'll have Reg all over it! Plus, look at the cool birds that will come visit!

I snapped this photo while the family was doing a quick wardrobe change. This photo really doesn't do justice to how pretty it is.
I want to give this guy a tophat and monocle.

Feeling A Little Christmasy
Dear Sister,
The past week I've been in the Christmas mood. Rocking Around the Christmas Tree, Dreaming of a White Christmas, loving those J-I-N-G-L-E bells... all that good stuff. The whole experience of preparing for Christmas is a little strange here in Texas. Last Thursday I was lounging on the beach. Three days, and a bit of a sunburn later, I was hanging decorations on our Christmas tree. Weird.

A pretty little gold decoration on our tree.
This is me waving to you in the ornament. It makes me look fat.
My favorite decoration on our tree. It's green AND sparkly.
This is what it looks like when I manually focus my camera on the tree. Kinda cool.
And the star on top!
